Justin Cooper has been remarkably consistent in the 250SX West class thus far – he has not dropped outside of the top two in a main event yet. Cooper suffered his first hiccup in the first timed qualifying session in Glendale this morning, however, as he crashed very hard going into the sand section and was slow to get up. The crash can be viewed in the social-media clip below.
Fortunately, Cooper did eventually return to his YZ250F and hit the track again. It took him a while to blow the cobwebs off, understandably, but he served notice that he is just fine by setting his fastest time of the session on the final lap. That put him second in the group behind his teammate, Dylan Ferrandis. Qualifying results will be confirmed following the second session in an hour.
